5 oz semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
1 cup flour
1 stick butter
3/4th cup dark brown sugar, packed
2 tbl white sugar
1 egg
1/4th cup unsweetened coco powder
1/2 a cup hazlenuts
splash vanilla extract
pinch each salt, baking soda, and cinnamon
Decide to cook chocolate chip cookies for a friend. Realize you only have 1 stick of butter and don't have much flour in the house so, even tho you do have chocolate chips you cannot make the recipe on the bag. Root through the cupboard to see what else you have. Find coco powder and have a bit of inspiration, it is about the texture of flour...
Soften butter, and cream sugar into it. Do NOT melt butter completely or the texture of the cookies may be funny. Add the egg, vanilla, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon and stir. Mix in the coco powder and the flour, then the nuts. Hope that you remembered to preheat your oven to 350.
Put cookies onto a cookie sheet, and bake at 350 for about 10-13 mins. Longer if you make giant cookies, shorter if you make dainty ones.
