Savory Strawberry Shortcake Waffles

Bisquick
Buttermilk
Eggs
3 tbl chopped fresh rosemary
2 oranges + their zest
1 lb strawberries
1 pint creme fresh
3-4 tbl honey
 2 tbl balsamic vinegar
sugar to taste

Prepare waffle batter according to the recipe on the side of the Bisquick box, substituting buttermilk for the milk, adding 1 extra egg in place of the oil, and folding in the rosemary and zest of both oranges.

Peel oranges and chop up into supremes (ie, don't put any of the membrane of the orange into your serving bowl). Wash and cut up your strawberries as well, tossing them in with the oranges. Add the balsamic vinegar, and way less sugar then you think strawberry shortcake needs. Beat up the strawberries and oranges with a pastry cutter or potato masher to get them to release more juices. Just mix the honey into the creme fresh to make your topping.

Make waffles according to the directions on your waffle maker. Serve the warm rosemary/orange waffles topped with the strawberry/orange mixture and a dollop of the creme fresh. This is best served warm.
